Lucy's where i'm from

I am from a mother, including five others

three sisters, and two brothers,

from a hard working man, that always wears plaid

a man with a beard, that I call my dad.

I am from true happiness, to the worst that can come

these things are a part of me, these things I am from.

From Saturday's sunshine, and breakfast ready

to hectic nights, and late night spaghetti.

From a mother who couldn't overcome her addiction

this is me, growing up in chronic affliction.

Don't get me wrong, I am more than this.

I am from goofy laughter and pure bliss,

from award winning breakdowns, and disappointing letdowns

I am from the great big fall, and rising above it all,

from something I had, to something I miss

I will always be from better than this.
